On this day in Lewis & Clark history...

The Expedition is ready to head back to the United States, but they are delayed by bad weather. Lewis reflects on their stay at Fort Clatsop and reports that Willard and Bratton continue to be ill.

but for the…ingenuity of John Shields, most of our guns would at this moment been untirely unfit for use; but fortunately for us I have it in my power here to record that they are all in good order.
