On this day in Lewis & Clark history...

The Expedition continues towing the boats against a head wind through the Missouri River Breaks. They see banks of sand deposited by winds, gravels deposited by the Missouri River, and the snow-capped Highwood mountains.

The roses are in full bloom    we saw yallow berrys, red berry bushes great nombers wild or choke Cherries, prickly prairs are in the blossom    we Saw great nombers of them.

we Set off eairly & proceeded on. passed Steep clifts of white rocks which had villages of little birds, built along the projecting rocks.
