On this day in Lewis & Clark history...

The Expedition continues up the crooked Missouri River nearing present Williston, North Dakota. They see large herds of buffalo, elk, deer, and pronghorn. Lewis compares buffalo calf to veal.

the country through which we passed is very simelar in every rispect to that through which we have passed for several days.— We saw immence herds of buffaloe Elk deer & Antelopes.
