On this day in Lewis & Clark history...
At Fort Mandan, the men load the keelboat, but due to high winds, they do not load the pirogues. The clerks from the North West Company return to their posts.
From the journals...
We packed the boxes full of skins, buffaloe robes, and horns of the Mountain ram, of a great size for the president; and began to load the boat.
