At Fort Mandan near present Stanton, North Dakota, the Expedition continues watching the river ice hoping to soon commence their journey across the continent.
From the journals...
Sunday 31st March 1805.
cloudy. rained Some at three oclock this morning. the Ice does not run So thick in the River as it did yesterday.
