On this day in Lewis & Clark history...
Today is a fine, clear day at Fort Mandan in present North Dakota. Once again, the hunters bring in only a single deer. Larocque left the fort still wanting to join the expedition, and Ordway's hat is accidentally burned.

Saturday 2nd Feby. 1805.
a clear morning. my hat got burnt exedantly this morning. the river raiseing one of the hunters went out a Short distance from the Fort and killed a Deer & packed it in.—
