On this day in Lewis & Clark history...
Using information gathered from the Indians and fur traders, Clark draws a map of the unexplored country. A fox that had been sneaking into the fort to dine on discarded bones is caught in Private Bratton's trap.
From the journals...
Sunday 6th Jany. 1805.
Bratton caught a fox in a Steel trap where it had a hole through the pickets. it had freequently come through in to the Garrison after bones where we divided meat.
