A Cheyenne delegation visits the Captains at Fort Mandan. After smoking a peace pipe, they are given a flag and a written speech to deliver to their nation. Clark threatens peace between them, the Arikara, and the Sioux.

a nomber of the Shian or dog Indians came from the village to visit us. we Gave them victuels & used them friendly. our officers Gave them Some tobacco & a fiew Small articles of Goods &.C.
