On this day in Lewis & Clark history...

After a snowy night, Missouri River ice floats past Fort Mandan as the men continue finishing their huts. Captain Lewis returns and reports that the Indians had feared the Expedition would join forces with the Sioux and attack them.

we finished dobbing & covering & compleating the remainder of our huts &.C—
