On this day in Lewis & Clark history...

Early in the morning, the expedition heads up the Missouri River under a strong breeze. They encounter a stray Indian horse and pass an old French trading post. After 11¼ miles, they camp near present Bean Lake, Missouri.

The land is Good high bottom pine Timber & black wallnut honey locas oak &C. &C— I Saw waat they call bucks Eye with the nuts on them;
