On this day in Lewis & Clark history...

Lewis leaves St. Louis to join the Expedition men who are waiting for him at St. Charles on the Missouri River. Several of the men attend a Catholic mass.

This day several of our party went to the Chapel, where Mass was said by the Priest, which was a novelty to them.—
