On this day in Lewis & Clark history...
While at their winter quarters across from St. Louis (Camp River Dubois), Clark begins to worry about the keelboat being washed out due to rising waters. The hunters bring in a hog they found hung up in the woods.

Thursday 5th Jany
I visited the boat frequently this day under apprehenion of the Creek which is now riseing washing the earth from the foot of the pries which is fixed under.
