On this day in Lewis & Clark history...

While at their winter quarters across from St. Louis (Camp River Dubois), Clark records the temperature in a warm room as 20 degrees above 0. Some of the men make merry and two of them have a fight.

From the journals...

Worner & Potts fight after Dark without my Knowledge & the Corpl. head of the mess left the hut & Suffered them to bruse themselves much, he has no authority, the other Part of the detachment verry merry at night
