On this day in Lewis & Clark history...

The morning is frosty on the Wood River in present Illinois. The teamsters' horses that delivered provisions yesterday are used to move logs today. In the evening, the men move into their newly constructed huts.

From the journals...

a hard frosty morning.
I Detain the waggon to haul logs for my building
hauled Logs to day with the Comosaries Teem    men move into ther huts this eveninge.
